There’s a profound peace that only the presence of a true saint can bring. “Sang aise santko kijie…” — form a bond with such a saint, the verse urges. But who is such a saint? He is one whose heart is free from lust, anger, pride, and delusion. In his presence, our restless minds find rest, and our burdened hearts find peace. His life itself is a teaching, a quiet but powerful call toward inner stillness and clarity.
He is humble and wise — “Nirmani gnani ati nike…” — unshaken by praise or blame, grounded in the knowledge of the real over the illusion. His words are not just spoken; they touch the soul because they come from truth. In him, discrimination between right and wrong, real and false, is ever alive. Such a one is rightly called a sadhu, not just by name, but by the very purity of his being.
Even the most prized treasures — the mythical chintamani gem or the magical parasmani — pale in comparison to his value. For what he offers is divine: “Harijash amrut pijie…” — the nectar of God’s name and glory. As saint Brahmanand beautifully says, surrender everything to sit at his feet, for through him flows the sweetness of eternal joy. To drink from that stream is to drink immortality itself.
In a world full of noise and illusion, the presence of such a soul is a rare blessing. If you find such a saint, hold fast. Let go of all else — and just listen.
