Verse | Translation |
Narad aise sache santki riti… | Narada, hear the marks of the true, Thus is the Sant revealed to you. |
Jehi suni sadhu parat pichhanat, jinko mam pad priti… | He holds deep love for my holy feet, In him alone my presence is sweet. |
Khat vikar jit anagh anandi, mere vachanme vasa; Brahmadik kshar jani jagatki, chhodat sab vidh asha… | The six vile passions he has subdued, Sinless, blissful, in virtue imbued. He knows that creations will decay, So worldly hopes he casts away. |
Akshar pad janat Avinashi, tehi madhya mukta apara; Panchvishay tyagi sab samrath, karat kalka chara…. | He knows Akshar’s eternal domain, Where countless muktas forever remain. Renouncing senses, in strength he stands, Beyond the touch of Time’s commands. |
Kshar Akshar par moku janat, sab aksharko Swami; Apno rup shuddh Brahma manat, mero hi jan nishkam… | Perishable – imperishable, he knows I am above. The Lord of all muktas – the one who they love. He sees his form as Brahman pure, Desireless, steady, his heart secure. |
Aise mere jan ekantik, tehi sam aur na koi; Muktanand kahat yu Mohan, mero hi sarvasva soi…. | Such is my Sant, Ekantik, rare, None can be equal, none can compare. Muktanand, says God: “Hear well my choice: He is my all, my soul, my voice.” |
In this teaching to Narada, Bhagwan unfolds the inner qualities of a true Sant. The ones that distinguish him from all others. Bhagwan says, a true Sant is one who holds unwavering love for the holy feet of Bhagwan. It is in this Sant’s heart, that Bhagwan finds his sweet presence.
Bhagwan further explains that the Sant is the one who has conquered the six inner enemies of lust, anger, greed, attachment, pride, and jealousy. Free from their hold, he remains sinless, eternally blissful, and at peace, rooted firmly in the Bhagwan’s command. With a clear understanding, he sees all worldly things as perishable, and so he lets go of insignificant expectations, leaving behind the chase for temporary-worldly pleasures.
Such a Sant understands Akshardham to be eternal, where countless liberated souls reside. He renounces indulgence in the five senses, standing strong and unshaken, untouched by the illusions of Maya.
Above all, he understands Bhagwan to be the One who transcends both Kshar and Akshar, the Lord of all, the Supreme. Recognizing his own true form to be Brahma, the true Sant is pure and desireless.
Muktanand Swami ends by saying that such is the Ekantik Sant. He is rare and incomparable. Bhagwan describes such a Sant to be His all. His whole and soul. His sarvasva.
Reflecting on these words, we are called not merely to just know the Sant and his true qualities, but to recognise his virtues of purity, detachment, and devotion. These words help us realise who we have attained. This attainment can inspire and guide us in our own journey.
To walk in the company of such a Sant is to walk in the presence of God Himself.
